Founder & President
His Grace Archbishop Daniel Thomas Browne is the Head and Founder of the Universal Church of God (worldwide). He is an Executive member of the Council of African and Afro-Caribbean Churches together for Britain and Ireland and then member of the Advisory Board of the British Clergy Conference in the United Kingdom.
He is married to Rev. Mrs. Barbara Iris Browne, Church Mother of the Universal Church of God Conference. They were married in October 26th, 1985 and have raised five children.
Archbishop Browne was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa. He was brought up in the religious home of his uncle who was a Godly man and a carpenter. Archbishop Browne was therefore motivated and encouraged to embrace deep religious commitments and training in the things of God in his early years.He is a vision of love, equality for all and he believe it start with him that is why with the help of his able wife Rev. Mrs. Barbara Iris Browne, founded Safe Haven Children Care Centre among other efforts to feed the hungry, cloth and care for the needy and helpless.

Reverend Mrs. Barbara Browne was born and raised in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She got her education in Kono and Freetown.She is married to Archbishop Daniel Thomas Browne. She was employed at the Ministry of Interior in Bo and later the Ministry of Development and Economic Planning in Freetown where she worked with various Permanent Secretaries and later worked with the Minister of Development and Economic Planning.
Due to her nature of work coupled with the church work, Reverend Mrs. Barbara Browne has acquired vast knowledge and experience in dealing with people.
During the civil war in Sierra Leone, she traveled to Ghana and during her stay in Ghana; she did a course in Theology and gained a Diploma in Theology. In London, she did a Certificate course in Business Administration.
Mrs. Browne gained employment in the Housing sector where she has been working for the past eleven years to date. Whilst working for the housing sector, she has attended various trainings and workshops and therefore has vast experience in housing.
In the year 2007, Reverend Mrs. Barbara Browne traveled to Sierra Leone to attend the wedding of her nephew. While in Sierra Leone, she came in contact with some of the displaced children who were victims of the civil war in Sierra Leone. She was moved with compassion, and vowed to help these displaced children, most of whom are orphans. Mrs. Browne’s joy is to see people happy and love to help people.
Archbishop Daniel T. Browne and Reverend Mrs. Barbara Browne have since donate their land to build an orphanage and have been supporting the running cost of the project and the children with their little finances. At present, the work is at a standstill due to lack of finance. Mrs. Browne is a strong believer of taking care of the needy and make them feel wanted and important as they are. She needs all the help she can get for this project to save as many lives as possible.

Sr. Evangelist Rev. Gazie Fackie – Minister -In-Charge for the Universal Church of God Maryland Branch which is a fast growing congregation in America providing religious service to the members and the general public for over 15 years at different locations. Rev. Fackie was born and raised in Sierra Leone and he attended Prince of Wales Secondary School. He got his college education at Northern Virginia Community College. He is one of the hardest working Minister in the US and a big proponent of Safe Haven Children Care Centre. . He was ordained in the United States in October 14th 2007. Since then, he has been even more active in the community to make sure he assist the congregation and the community at large any way he can. Rev. Fackie is an advocate for the poor and the hungry and he is always looking for ways to help bridge the gap.
Mrs. Bernadette S Kamara

Bernadette S Kamara is the President/CEO of KBM Financial Services, a financial services brokerage in the D.C. metro area located at 6315 Seabrook Road Suite 112 Lanham, MD 20706. I currently serve as Board Member for organizations like The Sierra Leone Arc Of Hope, Sierra Leone America Business Association SLABA, and SLABIG, Sierra Leone Sister Cities Organization USA, Vice President for the Lunsar-Marampa Descendants Association (LMDA) to name a few.I received numerous awards including community service award. As one that competently sell products in the Banking and Financial Services industry for more than ten years, I currently hold several financial Licenses in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. “Financial services” is an all-encompassing phrase that comprises Life insurance, Health insurance, Homeowner’s/Condo insurance, Business insurance, Renters Insurance, and motor vehicle insurance and International Travel Insurance. Since I have always loved to help people with their financial needs, I earned the necessary licenses and training to do what I love to do most: help people. In order to guarantee the delivery of the right Financial and Health solutions to my clientele, I started my own company --KBM Financial Services. KBM Financial Services is an insurance broker that teamed up with the best of the leaders in the Insurance and Financial Services industries to provide customized services for each and every client.
Academically, I am attending the University of Maryland University College for an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration and Business Law and Public Affairs. I am heading this program because I love helping people and this project have Blessed me emotionally and Spiritually beyond words. Working with my Church The Universal Church of God at Cheverly, Maryland to promote the need to bridge the gap of poverty for both the people in our communities here in the United States and for our Orphanage in Lungi, Sierra Leone, West Africa is the best and easiest decision I have ever made.
Mrs. Hawa M. Sesay

Mary Hawa Sesay is employed as a Senior Underwriter at United Health Group. She has been in the health insurance industry for over 20 years and is a certified Health Insurance Associate. Mary also earned a dual Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. She holds a Maryland Real Estate License. Mary has a love for working with children which led her to become involved in the children’s ministry at her church as well as a board member of several non-profit organizations but none is as important to her as the Safe Haven Children Care Center because she have the passion to help children and the expertise it takes to be in the leadership position to help with the implementations of the health care initiatives this organization is going to need to help a broader rage of health needs in these communities. Mary is married and has one daughter. Her primary goal is to help save the lives of children everywhere in anyway she can that is why she is always willing and ready to do what it takes to see that Safe Haven Children Care Centre be one of the Centres to model after in Lungi, Sierra Leone West Africa.

Miss. Lydia Browne

Lydia Browne was born in Sierra Leone and she is the daughter of His Grace the Archbishop D.T.F Browne and Mrs Reverend Barbara Browne. She is a member of The Universal Church of God Commitment Committee Team. She is stationed in the United Kingdom and has completed her GCSE ‘S in 12 subjects including English and Math, AS/A Levels in Sociology, History and Law and Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Law. She is currently pursuing her final studies towards becoming a full qualified lawyer to specialize in Family Law, Immigration and International Immigration Law.
Lydia possesses theoretical legal knowledge and has gained practical experience within the legal field. She is a Civil Servant and her position has helped hone her skills in research, analytical, investigation, and has provided her with the opportunity to work effectively as a member of multi-disciplinary, a solutions-orientated team, and enchaining her communications/listening skills as well as organizational and time management capabilities.
She is highly committed, resilient and tenacious with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and has gained amassed further experience working within different organizations, where she has gained valuable insight and hands-on experience handling complex cases. These different roles enhanced her organizational capabilities and ability to multi-task while working accurately under pressure, ensuring smooth operational processes and high level of customer care and maintaining company goals. The major attribute to Ms. Lydia is the hard work she has and is willing to devote to Safe Haven Children Care Centre. This is her dream job and nothing fulfill her more than seeing those orphans happy, with a place to call their home, and food to eat everyday.
Aiah Fanday

Brother Fanday was born in Koidu Town, Kono District. He grew up in Freetown. He is a product of Prince of Wales Secondary School, Freetown Sierra Leone. He earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland USA. He currently own and managed his owe company Fanday’s Events Planning located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He is also a Soft Line Executive for Target Corporation.
He is actively involved in the Sierra Leonean Community and his Church The Universal Church of God. He is the past president of the Kono Union. He currently serves on the Friends of Sierra Leone (FOSL) Board as Vice President; and Vice Chair for Sierra Leone Sister Cities Organization USA. He is also the current Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Financial Secretary for The Universal Church of God.
Aiah Fanday has received numerous awards from many Sierra Leoneans Organizations like Tegloma, National Organization for Sierra Leoneans in North America (NOSLINA), Kono Union in the United States for his Outstanding Services to the Sierra Leonean Communities. Brother Fanday is a part of Safe Haven Children Care Centre because he love not just helping people but affect their lives in a positive way. He does not just want to give donations, he want to make sure he is a part of the change that is require for us as human beings to help each other just as Jesus Christ had said on to us, " as you do this to the least of my brothers, you do it on to me".He and his partner Reverend Sia are proud parents of two lovely boys and a daughter: Sahr, Allieu and Nyambeh.
Mr. Harry Laggah
Public Relation Officer
Brother Harry Laggah was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Mr. Laggah was raised in Senehun Kamajei and Taiama Kori Chiefdoms in the Moyamba District. He attended the Albert Academy and Fourah Bay College in Freetown. He graduated with a degree from Texas Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and media studies. He obtained a Masters degree in Public Administration in 1997 from the University of North Florida.
Mr. Laggah furthered his knowledge in Technology. He became a Microsoft System Engineer and Database Administrator in 1992. He has also worked as Traffic Manager for Cuban Caribbean Shipping Company in Florida. He has served a variety of industry with results driven initiative, including publishing, staffing services, and property management. Harry’s varied and unique skills have been easily transferable across the board.
His specific areas of expertise are Public Administration, financial management, staff management, administration, and support of medium-sized businesses (20 to 100 employees). He is a strong proponent of process, documentation, and quality financial reporting.
He has worked in many capacities but the most important and satisfying job for him is helping people. He currently works very closely with the Sr. Evangelist Gazie Fackie who is the
Minister in charge at the Universal Church of God Maryland Branch. He is married to Sister Margaret Laggah with two children: Musu and Samie.
